What better way to start the year than to experiment and sketch with colour pencils? I usually just use a lead pencil to draw/sketch but since my sister gave me a brand new set of colour pencils, I decided to put my drawing/sketching skills to the test. I’m absolutely loving it so far!

Weekly Photo Challenge: New
I saw a picture of Bob Marley in school which had been drawn by one of the seniors and I just thought, “Wow!” This picture isn’t really inspired from Bob Marley but Bob Marley’s hair. I wanted to see if I could pull dreadlocks off but I don’t think I really have. But hey, it’s pretty close. And again, this was a picture to see how well I could draw detailed pictures. It’s quite 2D but I haven’t done many detailed drawings so I guess it’ll have to do the way it is. Sorry for it being really dark.
As you may have noticed, most of my drawings have been very simple, straighforward. Probably not the first abstract one I posted but all the ones that followed. Taking that into consideration, I drew this because I wanted to try out something that involved a lot of details. (I can’t really say that I succeeded, but you’ve got to try, right? I mean just look at the poor fellow standing behind prison bars. I mean, I thought it was possible for a prison cell to be located RIGHT on a starcase.) Anyway, it obviously didn’t turn out as good as I had pictured it in my head but I guess it isn’t bad enough, either.
If you want to look for errors, you’re probably going to find a lot of them but hey, this is just a drawing so just appreciate it as it is, okay? : P
