Nightmares and Shadows

You are whispering
In my ear
And I am not willing to listen

I clamp my hands
To block you out
But you find a way in anyway

Those dark and scary voices
That you take on
Turn by turn

Are not welcome
Inside of me
Since they make me want to run

All you leave me
Are nightmares
Shadowy thoughts and dreams

I wake up
Every night since then
Drenched in sweat, wanting to scream

I plead, I beg
Just leave me alone
I cannot take it anymore

I surrender, I give in
Just tell me what to do
So that you leave me alone

A wish, a desire
Whatever it is you want
I will do under one condition

That you will turn
And walk away
Never haunting me any more
